Kolmar Korea has secured two top honors at the prestigious CosmoProf Bologna 2025, winning in both innovation technology and sustainability categories at what’s often referred to as the “Oscars of the cosmetics industry.”
The South Korean contract manufacturer was the only company worldwide to claim two grand prizes at the 56th edition of the global beauty exhibition held in Bologna, Italy from March 20-23. The company’s AI-based microbiome diagnosis platform “CAIOME” won the innovation technology award, while its environmentally friendly “ECO-PULSE Centella” extract secured the sustainability prize.
CAIOME analyzes beneficial and harmful bacteria on the skin and provides personalized skincare recommendations within five minutes using a simple swab test. The platform can deliver up to hundreds of thousands of customized skin solutions, according to the company.
The ECO-PULSE Centella extract, derived from Centella asiatica plant, uses a non-heating eco-friendly method that reduces carbon emissions by over 20% while extracting higher concentrations of active ingredients like madecassoside.
The awards highlight Kolmar Korea’s growing influence in the global beauty market, where it’s positioning itself at the intersection of artificial intelligence, personalization, and sustainability. The company previously showcased CAIOME at CES 2025 in Las Vegas.
