HL Mando Corp., a pioneer in electric vehicle and autonomous driving technologies within South Korea’s HL Group, has announced a strategic partnership with Kakao Mobility Corp. and KM Parking & Space Inc. This collaboration, formalized through a business agreement signed on Thursday, is set to develop and commercialize autonomous parking robot services.
Under the terms of the agreement, the three companies will establish a joint task force to create a comprehensive next-generation parking solution. HL Mando will manage the operations of the parking robot, named Parkie, which is designed to automate the parking process, reducing time and enhancing convenience for users.
Kakao Mobility will contribute its expertise in digital systems by developing a sophisticated control system utilizing digital twin technology. This technology will enable precise management and operation of the autonomous parking services, ensuring efficiency and safety.
KM Parking & Space, a subsidiary of Kakao Mobility, will oversee the construction and management of smart parking facilities that are essential for the deployment of these automated services. Additionally, the integration with the Kakao T app will facilitate seamless connectivity and accessibility for users, linking all services and operations across the platform.
This partnership not only highlights the innovative strides in autonomous technology by HL Mando but also demonstrates the growing synergy between automotive technology developers and digital service providers in enhancing urban mobility solutions.
