AlphaPolis Co. reported a 44% jump in annual profit as price increases and expanded e-book offerings drove sales across its publishing portfolio, particularly in manga titles set for anime adaptations.
Net income for the fiscal year ended March 2025 climbed to 2.02 billion yen ($13.5 million), the Tokyo-based publisher said Friday. Revenue rose 32% to 13.62 billion yen while operating profit increased 42% to 3.22 billion yen.
The company’s manga division led growth with a significant increase in publication volume, releasing 215 titles during the year, 28 more than the previous period. Its “Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy” series exceeded 5 million copies in cumulative sales, while “Workshop Master’s Misunderstanding” is slated for anime broadcast beginning next month.
E-book sales showed substantial expansion after the publisher introduced chapter-by-chapter purchasing options across major digital platforms. The light novel “Stepmother’s Mindset” saw particularly strong digital performance.
AlphaPolis expanded into new publishing categories, including business books and children’s picture books, as part of its portfolio diversification strategy.
For fiscal 2026, the publisher projects revenue will increase 18% to 16 billion yen and net income will rise 14% to 2.3 billion yen, extending its streak of double-digit growth as digital distribution channels continue to mature.
