WonderPlanet announced its financial results for the fiscal year ending August 2024, reporting a significant improvement in profitability despite a 29.6% drop in sales. The company achieved operating profit of 120 million yen, up 144.9% year-on-year, and ordinary profit surged 292.9% to 110 million yen. Net profit turned positive, reaching 90 million yen, after a 236 million yen loss the previous year.
The decline in sales, down to 2.44 billion yen, was largely due to the termination of overseas services for “Crash Fever” and “Alice Fiction,” as well as the closure of “Jumputi Heroes” in Japan and Taiwan. However, the domestic version of “Crash Fever” performed well during its anniversary campaign, stabilizing revenue.
New titles such as “Pandland,” co-developed with Game Freak, contributed to stable development-related sales. The company’s strategic focus on reducing its contribution expenses for new game developments allowed operating profits to grow despite the reduced sales volume.
Looking ahead, WonderPlanet plans to continue expanding its portfolio with two major IP titles in development, aiming for one new release annually from 2025 onwards.
