Wistron Corp. is pushing forward with its US manufacturing presence by establishing a new $45 million subsidiary and planning to acquire land and facilities valued at up to $50 million, the Taiwanese electronics manufacturer announced today.
The new entity, Wistron InfoComm (USA) Corporation (WIUS), will help the company expand its American footprint in line with business development needs and strategic planning requirements. The move comes as Taiwan’s technology firms increasingly seek production capacity outside China amid ongoing trade tensions.
As an original design manufacturer, Wistron produces a range of electronics including notebooks, servers, storage devices, and medical equipment for global brands. The company has been diversifying its manufacturing base across multiple countries in recent years.
This US investment is part of a broader global expansion strategy that includes new facilities in Vietnam and India. Wistron is also substantially increasing its artificial intelligence investments, with NT$35.5 billion (US$1.08 billion) allocated to AI development in 2025.
In a separate development, the company announced plans to renovate a building in Zhubei City, Hsinchu County, Taiwan, leased from Lan Fa Textile Co. The improvements will cost up to NT$1.881 billion and support future business needs.
Wistron also disclosed plans to issue up to 250,000 ordinary shares via global depository receipts, as authorized by its 2024 shareholders’ meeting.
