Taiwan’s Wistron Corp. unveiled plans to spend NT$3.2 billion ($100 million) on facility upgrades and expansions across three countries, marking its latest push to strengthen its global manufacturing footprint.
The contract electronics maker will invest $25 million to improve its Texas facility that handles after-sales services for AI servers, according to a company filing. The investment comes as demand for AI computing infrastructure continues to grow.
In Vietnam, the company plans to acquire 37.1 hectares of industrial land for NT$1.21 billion through its local subsidiary. Wistron will also establish a new entity with capital of $16.5 million to build worker dormitories in the Southeast Asian nation.
The manufacturer is boosting its presence in India with a $20 million capital injection into its local unit for factory construction. The investment will be made through its Singapore subsidiary.
The multi-country expansion highlights Wistron’s efforts to diversify its manufacturing base beyond China, following a broader industry trend of spreading production risks across different regions.
