Scientech Corporation rode the wave of semiconductor industry expansion to post record quarterly earnings, as major clients like Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. boost their advanced packaging capabilities.

The Taiwanese chip equipment maker reported third-quarter net income of NT$241 million (US$7.5 million), up 6.37% from the previous quarter. Revenue climbed to NT$2.5 billion, marking a 5.39% increase from the second quarter.

For the first nine months of the year, Scientech’s profit reached NT$677 million, already surpassing full-year 2023 earnings of NT$650 million. The company’s earnings per share stood at NT$8.43 for the period.

The profit jump reflects growing demand for Scientech’s chip equipment, particularly for Chip-on-Wafer-on-Substrate (CoWoS) advanced packaging technology. As TSMC and other packaging companies expand their CoWoS capacity, market analysts expect Scientech’s earnings momentum to continue through year-end.

The semiconductor equipment maker has positioned itself as a key supplier in Taiwan’s advanced packaging supply chain, though it faces increasing competition as more players enter the growing market segment.
