Allianz Greenpower, a renewable energy developer under Taiwan’s Alchip Technologies, has partnered with Wyn Power Corp. to develop a 50-megawatt peak solar power project in Taysan, Batangas province, Philippines.
The ground-mounted solar plant, scheduled to be connected to the grid in the first half of 2026, will supply electricity through Batangas Electric Cooperative II (BATELEC II). The facility is expected to generate 74 million kilowatt-hours of clean energy annually, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 45,000 tons.
The project secured approval during the Philippines Department of Energy’s second green energy auction in 2023, with a guaranteed green energy tariff of P4.10 (US$0.07) per kilowatt-hour. All necessary permits have been obtained, including the National System Impact Study approval and an Environmental Compliance Certificate from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, with construction set to begin this month.
This investment marks Allianz Greenpower’s continuing expansion in Southeast Asia, following its 22MW Cavite solar plant partnership with Marubeni Asian Power Philippines Corporation signed earlier in 2024. The Taysan project represents part of the company’s broader strategy to strengthen regional clean energy supply and support global energy transition goals.
