Taiwan Mobile has taken a significant step into the AI and information services sector by acquiring an 11.86% stake in Systex, a leader in Taiwan’s information services industry. The board of directors approved the strategic investment, with the transaction estimated at NT$3.5 to NT$4 billion, based on Systex’s recent closing price of NT$120 per share.
Systex has been actively expanding its AI offerings, particularly in generative AI applications for various industries. The partnership with Taiwan Mobile is seen as a strategic move to broaden its reach into enterprise solutions, integrating communication, AI, and information services.
Taiwan Mobile’s investment aligns with its broader goal of growing its presence in the enterprise market. The deal also involves key leadership changes at Systex, as its major shareholders—Hanmao Investment and Jingpu Investment—have sold their stakes, opening the door for Taiwan Mobile to play a more prominent role in the company’s future direction.
The collaboration is expected to create synergies between the two companies, particularly in AI-powered enterprise solutions. Industry insiders suggest that this could be the first step toward deeper cooperation, with Taiwan Mobile potentially increasing its stake in Jingcheng in the future.
