South Korea’s Taihan Cable & Solution Co. has clinched a significant contract worth 600 billion won ($463 million) to develop a 380 kV ultra-high voltage power transmission network in Germany. This project, announced by the company on Tuesday, is part of Germany’s initiative to bolster its eco-friendly wind power generation capabilities.
The contract was awarded by TenneT, a transmission system operator owned by the Dutch government, which manages power grids in both Germany and the Netherlands. Taihan Cable’s role in this turnkey project is comprehensive, encompassing the supply of all necessary materials, including ultra-high voltage cables and connectors. The company will also be responsible for the complete spectrum of project tasks, ranging from the design of the power network to installation, connection, and testing.
This latest project win adds to Taihan Cable’s growing portfolio in the ultra-high voltage power transmission sector. Earlier this year, the company secured two other projects in this domain, with a combined value of 700 billion won. These successes underscore Taihan Cable & Solution Co.’s expanding global footprint and expertise in developing infrastructure essential for sustainable energy solutions.
