Taihan Cable & Solution Co. has completed Kuwait’s first fiber optic cable factory, in collaboration with Rank General Trading & Contracting. The facility, located in the Mina Abdulla Industrial Area near Kuwait City, is set to begin commercial operations this month following product verification.

The new factory, operated by Taihan Kuwait, is part of the South Korean company’s strategy to localize production and capitalize on the increasing demand for fiber optic cables in the Middle East, where Kuwait currently imports all its supply. This development aligns with the country’s “New Kuwait Vision 2035” initiative, which emphasizes infrastructure expansion, including 5G networks, IoT, and AI technologies.

Taihan Cable plans to use the facility as a regional base to strengthen its presence across the Middle East, including in Saudi Arabia and Qatar, leveraging its 50-year history of supplying cables to the region. With cutting-edge production lines similar to those at its flagship South Korean plant, the company is well-positioned to meet the growing demand for advanced communications infrastructure.
