Japanese software testing provider SHIFT Corp. posted an 81% jump in quarterly profit, driven by stronger demand for its core testing services and growth in its enterprise software business.
Net income climbed to ¥1.98 billion ($13.4 million) in the three months through November, while revenue rose 20% to ¥30.2 billion. The Tokyo-based company’s operating profit nearly doubled to ¥3.52 billion, according to its earnings statement.
SHIFT’s main software testing division, which accounts for about two-thirds of sales, saw operating profit increase 42% to ¥4.76 billion. The unit benefited from improved utilization rates and growing corporate spending on quality assurance services.
The software development segment recorded a threefold increase in operating profit to ¥711 million, boosted by expansion in enterprise resource planning projects and recent acquisitions.
Despite the strong quarter, SHIFT maintained its conservative full-year outlook, forecasting net income of ¥7.9 billion on sales of ¥130 billion for the fiscal year ending August 2025. The projection suggests a potential slowdown in growth momentum for the remaining quarters.
