SGC Engineering & Construction (E&C) has signed a major contract with Saudi International Petrochemical Company (Sipchem) worth 490 billion won ($366 million). The deal includes two significant projects: a 260 billion won ($194 million) ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) production facility and a 230 billion won ($172 million) propane dehydrogenation/polypropylene (PDH/PP) facility. The latter will enable the production of polypropylene by combining propylene from the PDH process with ethylene.
SGC E&C will oversee the entire engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) process for both facilities, strengthening its position in the Middle Eastern market.
This latest contract follows a series of wins for SGC E&C in Saudi Arabia, where the company has secured more than 1.4 trillion won in new orders this year, including a 690 billion won ethylene-propylene facility and a 250 billion won isopropyl alcohol plant.
In addition to its success in Saudi Arabia, SGC E&C has expanded its global footprint by securing a 332.3 billion won chemical plant project in Malaysia, further diversifying its international portfolio. The company’s aggressive expansion in the EPC sector highlights its growing influence in the global market for large-scale industrial projects.
