Samsung Electro-Mechanics posted third-quarter net income of 219.8 billion won ($154 million), marking a 91% jump from a year earlier, as demand from artificial intelligence servers and electric vehicles boosted results across its business lines.
The Samsung Group subsidiary reported revenue of 2.89 trillion won ($2.02 billion) for the three months ended September, up 10% year-over-year. Operating profit reached 260.3 billion won ($182 million), representing a 9% margin that exceeded the prior year’s 8.6%.
The component division, accounting for nearly half of total sales at 1.38 trillion won ($965 million), benefited from rising orders for multilayer ceramic capacitors used in AI server applications, industrial power modules, and advanced driver-assistance systems. The company indicated it secured additional contracts for high-temperature, high-capacitance MLCCs targeting data center infrastructure.
Package solutions revenue climbed 6% from last year to 593.2 billion won ($415 million), driven by increased substrate supply for server processors and AI accelerators from major technology customers. The optics business generated 914.6 billion won ($640 million), though quarterly sales slipped 3% as overseas smartphone demand softened.
The manufacturer’s balance sheet showed assets of 13.8 trillion won ($9.65 billion) with a debt-to-equity ratio of 21%, down from 23% a year ago.
