Taiwanese semiconductor company PlayNitride Inc. reported a turnaround in September, posting a monthly profit of NT$41.27 million (US$1.3 million) with earnings per share of NT$0.39. This marks a significant shift from the company’s losses in the previous quarter.
The company’s revenue surged to a record NT$220 million (US$6.9 million) in September, representing a 19.4% increase from the previous month and a 180% jump year-over-year. This growth is attributed to Nichuang’s efforts to diversify its revenue streams, including COC and Turnkey Solution offerings.
For the first three quarters of 2024, Nichuang’s cumulative revenue reached NT$1.054 billion (US$33.1 million), up 51% from the same period last year. However, the company still faces challenges, as it reported a net loss of NT$117 million (US$3.7 million) for the first half of the year.
While September’s performance signals a potential recovery, investors should remain cautious about Nichuang’s ability to sustain this positive momentum in the highly competitive semiconductor market.
