The NAND flash controller maker reported NT$58.94 billion ($1.89 billion) in revenue for 2023, marking the company’s third-highest annual sales despite global market headwinds. December revenue reached NT$4.52 billion ($145 million), up 5% from November.
Phison Electronics Corp. saw its controller chip shipments surge 24% last year while NAND storage bit growth expanded 11% to a record high, suggesting sustained demand for high-capacity storage modules across market segments.
Chairman and CEO K.S. Pua said the company’s storage solutions continued to gain market recognition across various applications despite soft consumer spending. At CES 2024, Phison unveiled its complete PCIe 5.0 SSD portfolio, aiming to expand its presence in PC OEM, server, gaming and AI markets.
The company is also pushing into AI with its aiDAPTIV+ platform for edge computing model fine-tuning, aligning with NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang’s vision for edge inference devices. Phison plans to promote edge AI technology adoption across industries to enable broader digital transformation.
