Hosiden Corp., a key supplier of electronic components for Nintendo gaming consoles, returned to profitability in the fiscal year ended March 2025, powered by stronger sales across its amusement, mobile communication, and automotive segments.
The Osaka-based component manufacturer reported annual sales of ¥247.57 billion ($1.67 billion), up 13.1% from the previous year, with net income of ¥10.04 billion ($67.8 million) compared to a ¥13.7 million loss a year earlier.
Despite the improved performance, Hosiden saw its foreign exchange gains dramatically shrink to just ¥45 million from ¥4.21 billion in the prior year, limiting its ordinary profit growth.
The company’s mechanical components division, which includes Nintendo-related products, led the recovery with a 16.1% sales increase to ¥214.65 billion ($1.45 billion). Audio components for automotive applications also performed well, growing 4% year-on-year.
Looking ahead, Hosiden forecasts a substantial 64% revenue jump to ¥406 billion ($2.74 billion) for fiscal 2026. However, the company expects profits to decline, with operating income projected to fall 4.2% to ¥13 billion ($87.8 million) and net income dropping 16.3% to ¥8.4 billion ($56.8 million).
The display components segment remained challenging, posting a ¥270 million loss despite narrowing from the previous year’s deficit.
