MediaTek reported February consolidated revenue of NT$46.17 billion ($1.42 billion), representing a 19.9% increase year-over-year despite declining 9.7% from January. The company’s cumulative revenue for the first two months of 2025 reached NT$97.32 billion ($2.99 billion), up 17.2% compared to the same period last year.

Analysts expect MediaTek to achieve its first-quarter financial targets, which forecast revenue between NT$140.8 billion and NT$151.8 billion. To meet these projections, March revenue would need to exceed NT$43.48 billion to hit the lower end of guidance.

CEO Rick Tsai has expressed confidence in the company’s performance during what is traditionally a slow season, citing strong demand for smartphones benefiting from subsidy policies in China. The company also sees increased orders for TVs, WiFi components, tablets, and Chromebooks as customers prepare for potential global tariff uncertainties.

MediaTek expects to strengthen its flagship smartphone chip market share in China, which rose from over 30% in 2023 to approximately 40% in 2024. The upcoming Dimensity 9500 chip is reportedly gaining better customer adoption than its predecessor.

Other growth drivers include WiFi 7 technology, which the company expects to double in revenue this year, and expanding automotive applications.
