South Korean logistics company LX Pantos has acquired a new ambient logistics facility in Dalton, Georgia, marking a significant step in its expansion into the US market.
The 304,769-square-meter facility, comparable in size to 43 soccer fields, was purchased for 170 billion won ($126 million). The acquisition was finalized during a March 7 signing ceremony attended by LX Pantos CEO Lee Yong-ho and Korea Ocean Business Corp. head Yoon Sang-ho.
The investment is supported by South Korea’s Global Hub Port Construction Strategy, a government initiative designed to boost the international competitiveness of domestic logistics firms.
Georgia’s strategic position makes it increasingly attractive as a logistics hub, with infrastructure that includes the Port of Savannah, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, and extensive rail networks. From Dalton, goods can be delivered across the United States within one to two days.
The region has attracted approximately 140 Korean companies, particularly in automotive and battery manufacturing sectors. LX Pantos’ move follows its recent entry into the intermodal business through a joint venture with Ocean Network Express.
The company expects the new center to serve clients including LG Electronics and Hanwha Q CELLS while expanding its American customer base.
