Lunit Inc., the Korean provider of AI-powered cancer diagnostics, has secured a five-year contract with Abu Dhabi Health Services Co. to deploy its mammography analysis software across the UAE’s largest healthcare network.
The deal with SEHA, which operates 14 hospitals and more than 70 clinics with over 3,000 beds, follows a successful proof-of-concept evaluation initiated in 2022. Under the agreement, Lunit’s INSIGHT MMG system will analyze more than 100,000 mammography images to enhance breast cancer screening capabilities throughout the UAE.
Brandon Suh, Lunit’s CEO, said the partnership reflects SEHA’s trust in the company’s AI solutions and their shared commitment to advancing early cancer detection.
The contract comes as the Middle East’s medical AI market is poised for explosive growth, expected to expand from approximately $200 million in 2024 to as much as $1.5 billion within 5-7 years. The UAE healthcare AI segment alone is projected to reach $137.9 million by 2030, growing at a compound annual rate of 34.6%.
SEHA, part of PureHealth – the Middle East’s largest integrated healthcare platform – is implementing the AI system to support national cancer detection initiatives, including the UAE’s annual breast cancer awareness campaign.
