LF Corp., South Korea’s leading clothing company, is set to enter India with its flagship brand Hazzys, marking the first Korean fashion label to open standalone stores in the world’s most populous country.

The Seoul-based company plans to launch its initial outlet in the second half of 2025 and expand to 10 locations over the next three years through a strategic export agreement with Bengaluru-based Asia Brands Cooperation, according to a company statement Thursday.

LF aims to capitalize on India’s rapidly growing fashion sector, which is outpacing mature markets like Europe, China, and the US. The luxury segment is projected to grow 15-20% this year, while non-luxury apparel should expand 12-17%, according to McKinsey.

“With an estimated 400 million middle-class consumers, it’s a must-win market,” an LF official said, targeting the key demographic for premium casual fashion.

Hazzys has already established a significant Asian footprint with about 530 outlets in China since 2007, and stores in Taiwan and Vietnam. The brand’s overseas sales rose 15% last year, with its ICONIC collection surging 106% following a 478% jump in 2023.

The Indian expansion advances LF’s stated ambition to compete with global powerhouses like Ralph Lauren, as the company pursues more aggressive international growth.
