Largan Precision Co., Taiwan’s premier smartphone lens manufacturer, will hold its first-quarter earnings call on April 10, with analysts focusing on its strategic expansion into artificial intelligence robotics and Apple’s rumored camera-equipped smartwatch development.
The Taichung-based company reported NT$9.68 billion (US$300 million) in revenue for the first two months of 2025, a 23.15% year-over-year increase. CEO Adam Lin previously indicated March revenue would remain flat compared to February due to seasonal factors.
Beyond its core smartphone lens business, Largan has confirmed its entry into the robotics sector. The company has secured orders in the nascent robotics business, with Lin revealing that humanoid robot products have passed verification with multiple clients. The company is developing components that address collision avoidance and night vision capabilities, while also designing industrial robotic arm applications.
Market speculation about Apple incorporating cameras into future Apple Watch models could create additional revenue streams for Largan. Apple could launch camera-equipped watches as soon as 2027, potentially featuring cameras either embedded within the display or positioned near the crown on Ultra models.
Largan’s upcoming earnings call will likely address lens technology trends for AI smartphones, foldable devices, and slim-profile phones, along with production capacity planning and robotics strategy.
