Jinan Acetate Chemical Co. reported NT$1.56 billion ($49.5 million) in November revenue, marking a 25% increase from last year as demand for cigarette filter tow and acetate film remained robust.
The Taiwan-based manufacturer’s revenue for the first 11 months reached NT$14.15 billion ($449.7 million), up 46% year-over-year. The company attributed the growth to higher selling prices and increased production capacity for tow and filament products.
The company completed a tow capacity expansion in July and plans another increase by January 2025. It’s also boosting sustainable acetate filament production to meet growing demand from China’s women’s apparel sector, targeting 2,400 tons of annual capacity by year-end.
Looking ahead, Jinan expects to benefit from heated tobacco market growth and supply chain restructuring driven by geopolitical shifts. The company is exploring a joint venture with a major tobacco company in Southeast Asia for tow production.
Management plans to complete construction of a new acetate film plant, comparable to Zhongfeng Chemical’s scale, by Q2 2025. The company is also increasing investments in green materials development and recycling technologies.
