Inventec Corp. posted its highest quarterly revenue in seven years, driven by stronger laptop sales and growing momentum in AI servers. The Taiwanese electronics manufacturer reported third-quarter revenue of NT$163.8 billion ($5.2 billion), with net income reaching NT$2 billion.

The company plans to invest NT$627 million in a high-voltage substation at its Mexico facility to meet U.S. customers’ demand for local AI server assembly. The expansion comes as Inventec claims market leadership in shipments of Nvidia’s Hopper platform-based AI servers.

General Manager James Tsai expects AI server revenue to account for up to 40% of the company’s server business in 2025, up from over 20% currently. The segment could grow 60% next year, building on this year’s 250-300% surge.

The potential acquisition of ZT Systems by AMD creates uncertainty for Inventec’s order book beyond mid-2024. The company is actively pursuing new cloud service provider clients in the U.S. to diversify its customer base.

Inventec forecasts double-digit growth in laptop shipments next year, banking on AI PC adoption and Microsoft’s planned end of Windows 10 support to drive replacements. Its Southeast Asian operations in Malaysia and Vietnam are expected to boost profitability as production efficiency improves.
