Japanese game developer Imagineer saw its operating profit more than double in the fiscal second quarter, powered by a slate of new Nintendo Switch releases.

Operating profit jumped 119% to 299 million yen ($2 million) in the April-September period, while revenue edged up 1.6% to 2.89 billion yen. The Tokyo-based company’s net income rose 17% to 332 million yen.

The results were driven by several new Switch titles, including “Mystery Search Smart Countermeasures” and a golf training simulator. The company also launched three new entries in its “Let’s Play with Coloring” series.

Imagineer kept its full-year outlook unchanged, projecting a 30% rise in operating profit to 450 million yen on sales of 6.2 billion yen for the fiscal year ending March 2025. The forecast suggests management expects slower growth in the second half.

The game maker said it’s increasing research and development spending to strengthen its content portfolio across packaged games and mobile platforms. The strategy aims to create more hit titles in both segments.

The shares have declined 15% this year, underperforming the broader Topix index’s 8% gain.
