Imagineer Corp. posted a 45% jump in annual profit after releasing new titles for Nintendo Switch and launching a mobile game from its robot-battle franchise.
Net income rose to 603 million yen ($4.1 million) for the fiscal year ended March 31, the Tokyo-based game developer said Wednesday. Revenue increased 8.8% to 6.49 billion yen ($44.3 million), while operating profit surged 33% to 458 million yen ($3.1 million).
Imagineer released eight new Nintendo Switch games during the period, including “Fit Boxing 3 – Your Personal Trainer” and “Disney Music Parade Encore.” The company also launched “Medabots Survivor” for smartphones.
For the current fiscal year, Imagineer predicts revenue will grow 3.3% to 6.7 billion yen ($45.8 million) with operating profit rising 9% to 500 million yen ($3.4 million). However, net income is expected to fall 12% to 530 million yen ($3.6 million).
The company didn’t explain the projected profit decline despite operational growth, suggesting potential increases in tax burden or non-operational expenses for the coming year.
