Hyundai AutoEver Corp. is expanding its digital footprint in Southeast Asia through a new mapping venture with India’s CE Info Systems Ltd., known as MapmyIndia, targeting the region’s expanding automotive navigation market.
The South Korean IT service provider established PT Terra Link Technology in Indonesia to develop navigation systems tailored to the diverse road conditions across six Southeast Asian countries. The joint venture will create detailed maps for Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, and Singapore.
The partnership reflects the increasing demand for in-vehicle navigation systems in Southeast Asia, where road infrastructure varies significantly between countries. Each market presents unique challenges, from different traffic flow directions to distinct road marking systems.
The venture marks Hyundai AutoEver’s latest move to strengthen its position in the automotive technology sector, as car manufacturers increasingly rely on sophisticated navigation systems. The company, which primarily serves as the IT service arm of Hyundai Motor Group, has not disclosed the financial terms of the partnership.
MapmyIndia brings its expertise from India’s mapping sector, where it competes with global players like Google Maps.
