HD Hyundai Electric Co., a subsidiary of the South Korean shipbuilder HD Hyundai, has announced the completion of a 12,690-square-meter storage facility for power transformers at its Alabama production plant. The new facility can accommodate up to 60 finished transformers, enhancing production efficiency by eliminating the need to transport completed units to external storage locations, which also leads to significant cost savings.
In addition to its Alabama expansion, HD Hyundai Electric is enhancing its domestic operations. The company plans to complete an upgrade of its Ulsan transformer plant in South Korea by the end of this month. A new transformer core factory within the same complex is slated for completion by October. These developments are expected to generate an additional 220 billion won (approximately $159 million) in annual revenue, underscoring the company’s commitment to scaling its production capabilities both domestically and internationally.
