Furyu Co., Ltd. announced that its monthly sales for July 2024 reached a record high of 4.343 billion yen (approximately US$30.1 million), marking a 10.4% increase year-on-year. This surpasses the previous peak of 4.232 billion yen achieved in December 2023, highlighting robust growth across key segments.
The Sekaikan business segment led the company’s performance, with sales reaching 2.372 billion yen (US$16.5 million), a 19.3% increase compared to the same month last year. This growth was primarily driven by strong demand for domestic crane game prizes, a popular entertainment category in Japan.
Meanwhile, the Girls’ Trend Business experienced a slight decline, with sales down 0.5% to 1.499 billion yen (US$10.4 million). This was attributed to a dip in the print sticker business, as key performance indicators showed a 14.8% decrease in the total number of plays and a 4.1% reduction in Pictlink membership.
In contrast, the FuryuNew business, which includes games and anime, reported a 7.5% increase in sales, totaling 471 million yen (US$3.3 million). This segment’s growth underscores the company’s efforts to diversify its product offerings and tap into the expanding entertainment market.
Overall, Furyu’s record sales performance in July demonstrates its strength in adapting to market trends, although challenges remain in some areas of its business portfolio.
