Japanese gaming publisher Extreme Corp. significantly raised its profit forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2025, citing exceptional performance of its latest release “LOLLIPOP CHAINSAW RePOP.”
The Tokyo-based company now expects operating profit to reach ¥1.5 billion ($10 million), a 50% increase from its previous estimate. Net income is projected at ¥1.08 billion, up from the earlier forecast of ¥710 million.
Revenue is expected to climb to ¥11.65 billion for the fiscal year, marking a 14% increase from the previous year. The improved outlook reflects stronger-than-anticipated sales of the horror-action game released by its subsidiary Dragami Games in September.
The revised targets suggest a notable turnaround for Extreme, which had initially anticipated lower profits. The company’s content property business has emerged as a key growth driver, though market observers note that sustaining this momentum will depend on the publisher’s ability to deliver more successful titles in an increasingly competitive gaming market.
The forecast revision puts Extreme on track for its strongest profit growth in recent years, with ordinary profit now expected to surge 52.4% above the previous estimate to ¥1.6 billion.
