Enish Inc. posted a ¥900 million ($5.8 million) net loss for the nine months ended September, deepening red ink as its new mahjong title failed to gain traction in Japan’s crowded mobile gaming market.

The Tokyo-listed developer’s revenue dropped 32% to ¥1.68 billion ($10.9 million) from a year earlier, according to unaudited results released Monday. Operating loss widened to ¥652 million ($4.2 million) from ¥704 million a year ago.

Jan Evo Live, an online mahjong game featuring VTuber collaborations that launched Sept. 17, generated sales below initial projections despite partnerships with popular content creators. The company is implementing feature updates and in-game events to boost monetization, including a recently launched collaboration with VTuber group Aogiri High School.

Legacy titles including Boku no Restaurant 2 and Galsho, both celebrating their 15th year, maintained stable revenue through collaboration initiatives. Attack on Titan: Brave Order, marking its third anniversary, focused on user acquisition and retention efforts.

The company abandoned plans for blockchain game De:Lithe Last Memories after cryptocurrency GEEK was delisted from exchanges, pivoting to relaunch it as a standard mobile roguelike RPG.

Enish withheld its full-year earnings forecast, citing volatile market conditions and difficulty producing reliable projections. The developer is preparing releases including puzzle game Voice Full Zoo and a Nintendo Switch title based on anime series Yuru Camp.
