Japanese gaming company Edia reported a surge in profits for the nine months ended November, powered by its digital lottery services and e-book sales.
Net income more than doubled to 132 million yen ($890,000), while revenue climbed 6% to 2.53 billion yen ($17.1 million). Operating profit jumped 108% to 167 million yen ($1.13 million), benefiting from a shift toward higher-margin products.
The Tokyo-based company saw strong performance from its “Kuji Kore” and “Maru Kuji” online lottery platforms, which feature collaborations with popular entertainment brands. Its intellectual property business gained momentum through licensing deals for classic game titles in North American and European markets.
The publisher raised its full-year profit forecast, citing better-than-expected margins from merchandise sales. Edia now projects net income of 208 million yen ($1.4 million) for the fiscal year ending February 2025, up 39% from the previous year.
The company’s digital publishing unit recorded significant growth in both e-book sales and print publications, driven by new comic and light novel releases along with additional printings of existing titles.
