South Korean mobile game maker DevSisters Corp. is expanding its Asian footprint through a new publishing deal with Vietnam’s VNG Games for its upcoming title “Cookie Run: OvenSmash.”
The partnership will cover nine Asian markets, with DevSisters retaining direct control of distribution in its home market of South Korea. The new mobile game, developed by the company’s Press A studio, combines action and strategy elements featuring characters from the Cookie Run franchise.
The Seoul-based developer plans to begin global user testing in the first quarter of 2025 to evaluate gameplay mechanics and performance stability before the full launch later that year.
Industry analysts note that partnering with VNG Games, a major player in Southeast Asian mobile gaming, could help DevSisters tap into the region’s rapidly growing market. However, the company faces stiff competition from established developers and changing player preferences in the competitive mobile gaming space.
The move marks DevSisters’ latest effort to expand the Cookie Run brand, though success will largely depend on the game’s ability to differentiate itself in an increasingly crowded mobile gaming market.
