Taiwan’s Delta Electronics will acquire the remaining 90.23% stake in Japan’s Noda RF Technologies for ¥5.02 billion ($33 million), bringing its total ownership to 100% once regulatory approvals are secured.

The Taipei-based power management firm already held a minority position in the Osaka-based manufacturer, which produces radio frequency power supply systems used in semiconductor fabrication processes including etching and chemical vapor deposition. According to Chairman Ping Cheng, the acquisition aims to strengthen the company’s product portfolio for semiconductor equipment providers, citing previous collaboration between the two firms.

Noda RF Technologies, established in 2002, specializes in RF systems that affect chip yield and manufacturing precision. The company also serves LCD panel manufacturers and has built a client base primarily in Japan.

The transaction reflects Delta’s broader push into semiconductor supply chains as chipmakers increase capital spending on advanced manufacturing. The company, which recorded NT$401.2 billion ($12.5 billion) in 2023 revenue, has been positioning itself to benefit from growing power demands at AI data centers and semiconductor fabs.

Delta operates approximately 200 facilities globally and supplies power components to major technology companies including Apple and Tesla. The deal comes as the RF power semiconductor market expands, driven by 5G infrastructure deployment and increasingly complex chip manufacturing requirements.
