Coly Inc. reported narrowed losses for the fiscal year ended January 2025 as its mobile gaming business drove record revenue growth, powered by the successful launch of its new title “Break My Case.”
The Tokyo-based entertainment company posted sales of ¥6.5 billion ($43.3 million), up 28.4% from the previous year, while operating losses improved to ¥516 million from ¥813 million. Net losses narrowed to ¥546 million from ¥830 million a year earlier.
The company’s mobile gaming division saw substantial growth following the May 2024 release of “Break My Case,” which exceeded performance expectations. Coly also reported that its “Stand My Heroes” title reached 4 million downloads in January 2025, while “The Promise of Wizard” celebrated its fifth anniversary with special events tied to its January anime TV debut.
Gross profit improved more than anticipated after the company launched “coly ID,” a web-based in-game item sales platform that reduced commission fees. However, increased advertising costs for “Break My Case” and advance expenses for collaborations with major entertainment companies kept the company in the red.
Coly declined to provide financial guidance for fiscal 2026, citing challenges in forecasting sales amid the rapidly changing competitive landscape and upcoming collaborative projects with major entertainment companies.
