CJ CheilJedang Corp. announced plans to open Bibigo Market at Korea House in Paris during the Olympics to promote Korean food, known as K-food. The market will operate from July 25 to August 11 in the outdoor garden of La Maison de la Chimie in Paris’ 7th arrondissement.
Bibigo Market will feature an array of Korean dishes, including Bibigo kimchi, chicken, beef bulgogi dumplings, tteokbokki, rice balls, hot dogs, and kimchi. This initiative aims to introduce and popularize Korean cuisine among international visitors and locals during the high-profile event.
In addition to catering to the general public, CJ CheilJedang will provide Korean food products to South Korean athletes participating in the Olympics, ensuring they have access to familiar and nutritious meals.
CJ CheilJedang established a local subsidiary in France in May, reflecting its commitment to expanding its K-food business in Europe. France is home to approximately 300 Korean restaurants, indicating a growing interest in Korean cuisine.
The company has also extended its reach through online platforms, including the launch of a “Bibigo Store” on Amazon Germany, furthering its mission to globalize Korean culinary culture. This strategic move aligns with CJ CheilJedang’s broader goal of increasing the international presence and appreciation of K-food.
