CJ CheilJedang Corp., South Korea’s largest food company, has announced plans to increase the number of products it launches exclusively at E-Mart, the country’s leading supermarket chain. This move follows a strategic partnership signed between the two companies to collaborate on food production and distribution, as well as share consumer feedback to refine offerings.
Under this agreement, the companies will work with food experts and chefs to develop new products, including pre-cooked meals and restaurant-style dishes that cater to shifting food consumption trends. These exclusive items, set for release later this year, will be available across Shinsegae’s retail platforms, including SSG.COM, E-Mart Traders, and E-Mart Everyday.
E-Mart, which is owned by Shinsegae, will introduce new display tactics to highlight CJ CheilJedang products and differentiate them from competitors. This partnership builds on prior collaborations, such as the exclusive launch of CJ’s Bibigo Bungeoppang and Hetbhan cooked rice.
As part of the deal, both companies plan to enhance promotional efforts, leveraging social media to increase brand awareness and drive sales. CJ CheilJedang aims to utilize its brand strength alongside E-Mart’s retail expertise to deliver innovative products that appeal to modern consumers.
