BTS’s Jung Kook confirmed on Wednesday that he will commence his military service in December, aligning with the ongoing enlistment plans for all seven members of the K-Pop supergroup, as stated by the group’s management agency. Currently, three members are on a temporary break, fulfilling South Korea’s mandatory military service.
In a separate message to fans, Jung Kook expressed, “This coming December… I’m leaving you for a short while to serve in the military.” The remaining four members—RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook—have initiated the process of military enlistment, as disclosed by BTS’s management agency on the same day.
BTS, on hiatus as a complete group, anticipates the return of all seven members by mid-2025, according to analysts. The staggered enlistments and solo activities of BTS members benefit Hybe, the parent company of BTS’s management agency, ensuring ongoing engagement for fans as some members serve while others remain active in various projects. Jung Kook pledged a return to the stage post-service, promising growth upon his comeback.
