Ateam Holdings Co. raised its full-year profit forecast following an agreement to transfer its “Life Dot” end-of-life services business to Kamakura Shunju Co.
The Nagoya-based tech company will divest the funeral and cemetery information portal from its Ateam Life Design subsidiary through a company split scheduled for June 2, according to a statement Thursday. Ateam now projects net income of ¥1 billion ($6.6 million) for the fiscal year ending July 2025, nearly double its previous forecast of ¥560 million.
The transaction will generate a one-time gain of ¥297 million to be booked in the fourth quarter, the company said. Earnings per share are expected to rise to ¥53.88 from the earlier projection of ¥30.17.
Ateam maintained its revenue forecast at ¥25 billion and kept operating and ordinary profit projections unchanged at ¥1 billion each, noting that the sale will have minimal impact on these metrics.
The Life Dot portal provides information on funeral services, cemeteries and other end-of-life planning resources. For Kamakura Shunju, a specialist in end-of-life services, the acquisition aligns with its strategy to expand its digital offerings in Japan’s rapidly aging market.
