Japanese software developer Appirits reported a net loss of 57 million yen ($390,000) for the first nine months of fiscal 2024, reversing from a 271 million yen profit a year earlier, as project delays and office relocation costs weighed on earnings.
Revenue edged up 2.2% to 6.45 billion yen in the period ended October, while operating profit plunged 94.7% to 23 million yen, the Tokyo-based company said. The web solutions segment, which accounts for nearly 40% of sales, struggled with a major delayed project that concluded in September but left lingering effects on new business acquisition.
The digital staffing division showed strength with a 14.4% revenue increase, while the online gaming unit posted 5.1% sales growth and saw profits more than triple. Gaming benefited from fifth-anniversary events for titles like “Kemono Friends 3” and “UNI’S ON AIR.”
