AltPlus reported an expanded operating loss for the fiscal year ended September 2025 as declining revenue from existing games outpaced efforts to launch new titles.

The Tokyo-based mobile game developer posted sales of ¥2.9 billion ($18.7 million), down 17.6% from the previous year, according to company results released Wednesday. Operating losses widened to ¥467 million ($3.0 million) from ¥452 million a year earlier, with advertising expenses climbing as the company released new games.

The company’s flagship title Hypnosis Mic maintained relatively strong revenue, though player spending across its portfolio contracted. AltPlus received operational management of Princess & Knight during the period, bringing its total managed games to four by fiscal year-end.

Development activity included securing licensing rights for a major domestic intellectual property title scheduled for next year’s release, while launching Bokkyaku Zenya—a localized version of a Chinese game—in August 2025. The company also released Everybody Shogi for Apple Arcade the same month.

Contract development work remained steady with six projects, though one was canceled during the year. The company’s technical staffing business continued facing headwinds from client project cancellations and service terminations, though recent months showed modest recovery.

AltPlus declined to provide financial guidance for fiscal 2026, citing significant volatility in the gaming industry and ongoing structural reforms including new business initiatives. The company’s oshi-katsu fan engagement venture with G-F Holdings represents one diversification effort beyond traditional game development.
