Hsieh Ching-Jiang, Chairman of Airoha Technology, expressed optimism about the company’s performance this year during a media chat on June 21. Benefiting from robust sales in Bluetooth communications and Ethernet fixed network product lines across Europe, the United States, and Japan, Dafa is poised for significant growth in 2023. Hsieh highlighted that all four of Airoha’s major products have shown notable increases compared to the same period last year.

Although Airoha does not provide financial forecasts, Hsieh noted that the first quarter revenue increased by 20.1% quarterly and 26.3% annually. He anticipates maintaining this growth rate throughout the year.

Airoha’s key products include Bluetooth communications, satellite navigation and positioning, optical fiber broadband fixed networks, and Ethernet network application chips. Hsieh Menghan, Executive Vice President and spokesperson for Airoha, stated that Bluetooth communications lead in growth momentum this year, followed by fiber optic fixed networks, satellite navigation, and Ethernet. Bluetooth revenue is expected to contribute the most, accounting for over 40% of total revenue, while Ethernet, despite its smaller base, will see the highest growth rate.

Hsieh Ching-Jiang also discussed Airoha’s increased holdings in Jiuyang, emphasizing that Jiuyang will continue to expand its market presence using Airoha’s technology and product lines. He expects Jiuyang to break even soon, thanks to enhanced support from the Pan Lianfa Group.

Regarding gross profit margins, Xie mentioned that the first quarter’s 52.6% margin is not typical. The company aims to maintain a long-term gross profit margin between 48% and 50%.

Airoha is advancing its technology, with developments in Bluetooth 6.0, 25G-PON, 50G-PON, and 112G-PON for home fixed-line broadband. The company’s satellite positioning chips are already used by top wearable brands and are entering the automotive market through MediaTek’s vehicle platform. In data communications, Airoha is expanding its Ethernet capabilities with eight-channel 50G SeDes chips and optical module devices (ODP), which have begun small-scale shipments to data center customers.

Additionally, Xie revealed a new collaboration with MediaTek to develop set-top boxes (STB) and expand services to telecom operators, marking another strategic move for Airoha in diversifying its product offerings and market reach.
