Aeria Inc. swung to profitability in the first nine months of 2025 as higher-margin real estate transactions offset weaker overall sales and a recovering content business helped stabilize operations.
The Tokyo-based company posted net income of ¥326 million ($2.1 million) for the January-September period, reversing a ¥363 million loss a year earlier. Revenue fell 20.7% to ¥11.8 billion ($76.3 million), though operating profit reached ¥542 million ($3.5 million) compared with a ¥300 million loss in the prior-year period.
The asset management division drove the turnaround, with operating profit climbing 8% to ¥384 million despite a 44.4% revenue decline to ¥3.5 billion. The company attributed the margin improvement to several profitable property transactions, though it noted construction delays affected the timing of real estate sales.
Aeria’s content business, which develops mobile games and sells character merchandise, returned to profitability with ¥85 million in operating income after losing ¥586 million a year ago. Revenue in that segment declined 3.5% to ¥7 billion as delayed revenue recognition offset improving sales trends.
The company maintained its full-year forecast projecting ¥22.5 billion in revenue and ¥700 million in operating profit.
