Advantech, a leading industrial computer manufacturer, reported a revenue of NT$4.949 billion in May, marking a monthly increase of 3.9%. However, this figure represents a 15.06% decline compared to the same period last year. The cumulative revenue for the first five months of the year reached NT$23.592 billion, reflecting a year-on-year decrease of 17.94%.
Regionally, Taiwan and South Korea stood out with significant growth in May, posting annual increases of 14% and 35%, respectively. Conversely, North America, Europe, Japan, and emerging markets experienced double-digit declines year-on-year. The Chinese market also saw a slight annual decline, measured in single digits.
Despite these regional variances, Advantech’s monthly revenue performance in May was an improvement over April across all business groups, even though it was lower compared to the previous year. For the January to May period, Taiwan and South Korea maintained positive trends with annual increases of 9% and 10%, respectively. In contrast, North America, Europe, Japan, and emerging markets continued to see double-digit percentage declines year-on-year.
Advantech’s ability to post monthly growth amidst overall yearly declines highlights the challenges and opportunities in the global market. The company remains focused on navigating these fluctuations to stabilize and enhance its performance in the coming months.
