Acer Gaming announced it will become Sony Interactive Entertainment’s official PlayStation distributor in Hong Kong and Singapore beginning April 1, 2025, further expanding their strategic partnership in Asia.
The Taiwanese technology company has already established PlayStation distribution operations in Taiwan and the Philippines, leveraging its robust retail network and marketing capabilities to boost the gaming platform’s regional presence. Under the new agreement, Acer Gaming will handle distribution of PlayStation hardware, software, peripherals and related services in both markets.
“This is an important step in Acer Gaming’s international expansion,” said Hsueh Ting-yang, general manager of Acer Gaming. The company plans to implement localized strategies through retail channels and e-commerce platforms to enhance consumer access and service quality.
The partnership signals deepening ties between Acer and Sony Interactive Entertainment, with the Taiwanese firm continuing to strengthen PlayStation’s brand presence and customer service across Asia. Acer first established its gaming distribution business in 2020, applying its experience from its PC and Predator gaming brands to console markets.
The move comes as competition intensifies in Asia’s gaming hardware sector, with manufacturers seeking stronger distribution partnerships to capture market share in the region’s rapidly growing gaming community.
