Acer Cyber Security, a Taiwanese cybersecurity services provider, reported second-quarter net income rose 34% as enterprises across the island boosted spending on digital defenses against evolving threats.

Net profit climbed to NT$75 million ($2.5 million) for the three months ended June, up from the prior year, while revenue increased 13% to NT$590 million ($19.8 million), the company said in a regulatory filing. Gross margins expanded to 42.75% from last year’s levels.

The Taipei-based firm, which trades under stock code 6690, attributed growth to new large clients adopting business continuity services and increased demand for security assessments including penetration testing and compliance evaluations. First-half revenue reached NT$1.14 billion ($38.3 million), representing 14% growth.

Taiwan faces intensifying cyber threats, with authorities reporting 8,655 cybersecurity incidents in May 2025, a 13.7% increase from April. The island’s cybersecurity market is projected to grow at 11.1% annually through 2030, driven by an estimated 30 million cyberattacks monthly.

Taiwan announced NT$8.8 billion ($301 million) in new cybersecurity funding for 2025-2028, creating opportunities for local providers like AnChi. However, the company faces competition in a crowded market where approximately 340 domestic firms employ around 9,000 people.

Acer Cyber Security expects continued demand for real-time monitoring and incident response services as generative AI accelerates attack sophistication, though converting prospects into sustained revenue growth remains the key challenge.
