Taiwan’s AcBel Polytech Ltd. has started small-scale production of power supplies for AI servers, with volume shipments expected to begin in the third quarter, Chairman Rock Hsu said on Saturday.

The power supply manufacturer posted December revenue of NT$3.2 billion ($101.5 million), its third-highest monthly figure and the best performance in 14 months. This pushed full-year 2023 revenue to NT$31.8 billion, up 13.1% from the previous year.

However, the revenue growth was largely attributed to the acquisition of OmniOn Power rather than organic expansion. The company’s core business showed signs of slowing, though Hsu expects it to rebound in 2025 following ongoing transformation efforts.

AcBel is shifting its focus to advanced AI technology and clean energy applications, moving away from its traditional cost-driven manufacturing model. The automotive electronics segment is projected to see a slight decline as customers continue inventory adjustments.

The company recently unveiled a new corporate identity, repositioning itself from a power supply manufacturer to an energy solutions provider. Management believes this strategic shift will help capture emerging opportunities in the rapidly evolving power market.
