Samsung Electronics has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Japan’s largest mobile provider, NTT Docomo, to jointly research the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into next-generation communication technologies. The partnership will focus on leveraging AI to enhance 6G communication services as the technology matures and becomes standardized.
The two companies aim to optimize communication quality at a more granular level—down to individual users—improving connectivity in weak signal areas and ensuring more stable service. By applying AI, Samsung and NTT Docomo hope to improve the user experience and increase operational efficiency for service providers. This initiative is expected to set the stage for advancements in mobile communication, particularly as the world moves toward 6G adoption.
