Delta Electronics has revealed its future roadmap for smart grids, introducing innovative energy storage and management solutions at Taiwan International Smart Energy Week 2024. The company launched its DELTerra series, including the grid-level DELTerra U and the industrial/commercial DELTerra C, both designed to streamline energy storage and optimize power infrastructure.
The DELTerra U is a megawatt-level, fully liquid-cooled system that integrates 2.5 MW power conversion systems (PCS) and 5 MWh energy storage batteries, along with transformers and control systems, into two compact containers. This all-in-one solution minimizes the space and complexity of large-scale grid projects. The DELTerra C offers similar integration for industrial and commercial applications, with easy installation and scalability.
Delta also showcased its Solid State Transformer (SST) technology, which enhances AC and DC energy conversion efficiency while providing precise output control and remote management. SST’s modular design can reduce installation space by up to 50%, making it ideal for data centers, electric vehicle charging stations, and factories.
In addition to storage solutions, Delta highlighted its hydrogen energy offerings, including hydrogen production systems and fuel cells. The company also introduced a megawatt-level fast-charging solution for electric logistics fleets and heavy-duty trucks, designed to integrate renewable energy and storage, reducing energy losses and enhancing efficiency in high-power charging stations.
Delta’s smart grid technologies reflect the global push for low-carbon energy solutions, with a focus on real-time, flexible energy management as the power grid evolves towards decentralized, multi-source systems.
