South Korean tech company Naver has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Saudi Arabia’s AI institutions to develop an Arabic-based Large Language Model (LLM) and AI-related services. Announced at the Global AI Summit in Riyadh, the agreement will support Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 by advancing technology in areas such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and robotics.
The partnership, which includes Naver, Naver Cloud, and Naver Labs, will work with the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) to develop cloud solutions and intelligent robot services. Naver’s role in the collaboration underscores Saudi Arabia’s efforts to diversify its economy and reduce its reliance on oil by boosting innovation in sectors like health, education, and infrastructure.
As AI competition intensifies globally, this collaboration positions Naver as a key player in the Middle Eastern AI landscape.
